Wow… 5th June 2022 will forever go down in Welsh football history. The day we qualified for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The first one in 64 years. As Max Boyce would have said, it was an “I was there” moment. It has been so long in the making it still feels like a dream that Rob Page, thanks to a deflected Gareth Bale free kick, has lead Wales to the biggest sporting event, apart maybe for the Olympics, in the world. Following some intense partying that evening, I’m sure a few people woke up not too sure if what happened actually happened. It’s now three major tournaments out of four. Two Euros and World cup… “unbelievable Jeff!” It must be said, Ukraine played their part in a fantastic match and added to the occasion. Considering world events, Ukraine were the team nobody wanted to play and everybody wanted to qualify. If they weren’t playing Wales, the Red Wall would have wanted to see Ukraine in Qatar but it is the first time in over six decades that little Wales will be on the biggest stage - it is Wales’ time. Imagine the profile and audience Wales will have when they play the USA?! I’m not too sure who the Wrexham owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds will support on this occasion however. As many have pointed out in the days following the win against Ukraine, this is a journey that started with Gary Speed laying the foundations of unity. Every Wales manager in turn, Chris Coleman, Ryan Giggs, and Rob Page have added to the new colosseum of Welsh football. Maybe we should also doff our cap to John Toshack, the man who introduced Gareth Bale, Chris Gunter, Aaron Ramsey, Wayne Hennessey and other to international football. As an event management and hospitality company, we were there amongst it with the S4C & FAW fanzones in Market Hall, Caernarfon and London Welsh Centre, Camden. It was great to see both venues packed in support in support of Wales with Sgorio’s camera there to capture the atmosphere, moments and of course celebrations. The venues and event looked fantastic! We’re certain that everybody had a good time and thank you to everyone who tuned out to support the events and the nation. We look forward to arranging and managing other fanzones later this year… when Wales really put themselves on the global footballing map. I’m sire the nation, thanks to the football boys, will benefit and prosper in so many different ways. As a hospitality events and management company we strive to give guests the ‘Best Seat in the House’ wherever they may be. Between now and the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, we’ll have our thinking caps on and there will certainly be some amazing hospitality events that you wont want to miss. Qatar… are you ready for ‘Yma o Hyd’? strap yourselves in, the Welsh are coming!!
